Data Backup & Disaster Recovery Within Education
Data Backup & Disaster Recovery Within Education
Red Cell (UK) Ltd have been in consultation with a number of educational establishments regarding online data backup systems for schools, colleges and universities and have been able to offer a range of services to help improve data security, reliability and protection.
Since then, Red Call have investigated the education sector and discovered there is a lack of routine system backup and off site data protection within these areas. Our research in this area has shown that a large number of UK secondary schools failed to meet the data backup guidelines as laid out by government agency Becta. Network managers of over 100 schools admitted failing to backup their data to remote servers. This contravenes the requirements of Becta rules. Over 30 percent of schools were risking pupil coursework, teacher Iesson plans and electronic school records. Already one in ten UK schools have suffered an IT failure from which they were unable to recover their data.
Red Cell (UK) Ltd., currently provide backup facilities for all fields of commerce including education, retail, medical, legal, and financial, from small business to large enterprises. Our clients have experienced a reduction in their IT expenditure by eliminating hidden costs and wasted man hours synonymous with tape backup and older technology. This system allows clients to free up IT staff enabling them to concentrate on other areas thus increasing productivity. We currently offer a range of data protection services so that prospective clients may evaluate our online backup systems.
Our message is simply to ensure your data is backed up and secure.
‘Red Cell realises the importance of secure and reliable offsite Data Backup. We see the protection of Data and continuity of daily activities and functions as extremely important within education and as such we are committed to the development of ICT for schools within the UK'.
